Where is my holiday?
i have been wanting to blog for sometime now but have been too much of a lard-ass to actually type something...this entry was done halfway and meant for last fri.. but oh well...
to make up for the lack of one.. i bake.. some people sleep.. some people plant .. some people draw.. i can't draw so i bake..maybe i can't really bake too.. but then you can't just keep shopping and shopping right? actually i can... however the heart and soul are willing but the mind and wallet are not..
so
Ta Dah!

THE RAISIN BREAD with pine nuts...(pre-baked)
i plaited it.. yeah.. not a piece of art...but me is so proud.. =)

in the oven... it really does now look likw bread doesn't it?
Shurong, i know i was supposed to call you when i want to bake.. sorry.. it was an impromptu thing... tuition was cancelled that day so with some precious free time i decided to bake..baking ... mmm.. the high.. almost the same when you get a good haul at the end of a shopping day..
oooo.. julia you are so superficial..

the first batch.. tasted hard (but not unpleasant ...just like toasted bread) .. the inside was soft.. tasted like bread.. mmm... did i say i am proud of this?
although two days later, the exterior grew even harder and it tasted more like a biscuit than a bread... which i don't think so.. biscuit crumbles.. my bread doesn't .. it just grew hard that's all..but not hard enough to leave dents in walls or as hard as day old baguette from some fake DELI from FRANCE
yahahaha...

the second batch which was much better as it was softer ... finally something good comes out of anything i do...hahaha!...
definitely not the world's perfect bread.. lacks a lot in the fluffy department.. cos yeast couldn't work well in time. but its an achievement.. i know better bakers will scoff at me.. but it was better than i thought it will be to bake bread
credits to my mum for rolling and kneading the dough cos to her i am too weak.. she did most of the hard work while i supervise her.. hahahaha... sigh.. where will i be without her?
hmmm... what should i bake next time.i think i jumped a few on my scale.. i shall go back and try tarts.. rena do you like egg tarts?? YAHAHAHA! (you better did not throw away my bread)
oh other news .. as my mum gets into the baking mood.. she makes these too..

i bake the western desserts, she bakes the eastern... looks so pretty but tasted a little on the heavy side.. meaning its a little sticky.. probably too much dough in one paper cup..i don't mean its undercooked .. it is cooked.. hmm... but i wasn't present when she made these so i'm not sure..
she was really proud of them too.. hahaha... and no matter what..her cooking is still the greatest.. don't tell her though.. she gets a huge ego when one of her dishes go well..
Oh.. i watched pirates of the carribean 2 on sunday night with shieh.. but thats for another post..till the next time i feel like typing much..
