Phew.
My mum always has a really weird way of waiting for the lift.
Say.. she wants to go to the 5th floor while she is waiting at the 1st floor, but the lift is currently at the fourth floor. instead of pressing up (like normal sane people), she will press the down button. (even when the down button has no marking and is blank or when there is a scotch tape over it.)
Her reason?
She wants the lift to quickly come down.
And she is Serious!
Ya. and she will press up when she wants to go down.. cos the lift is on a floor below hers and she really wants the lift to quickly come up.
i guess the stress over the past few days has gotten to her and she is on autopilot now from lack of sleep. Can't stand it, her way of thinking is so cute sometimes.
She is so stressed cos my dad suffered a mild heart attack on sat night. he was complaining of severe back pain which became chest muscle pain at night. we brushed it off cos of his nature of work and say that he should go see the masseuse the next morning. However, during the night, my dad couldn't sleep due to the pain, stood up after my mum asked him to, turned and fell down.
I was in my room next to theirs when it happened, fears were confirmed when my mum shouted my name repeatedly. (she doesn't scream.. she only shout.. very manly as always.)
All i can say is that i am very very very thankful for the fall or it might have been too late. i might have exaggerated but seriously if not for the fall, we wouldn't have thought of going to the hospital. His usually tanned face was so pale.
after many tests, he was finally diagnosed with a mild heart attack and the treatment was doing a coronary angioplasty procedure and putting a stent in the blocked blood vessel to allow a smooth blood flow.
I guess that is the best treatment you can hope for a heart attack as the next will be a bypass surgery. At least, an angioplasty is a non-surgical procedure and he does not need to undergo anesthesia.
i was surprisingly alright when he was admitted. maybe its me being a tad slow or still being in denial. Until they put an oxygen tube around his nostril. WAH! First thought was "MY DAD IS SO SERIOUS, HE NEEDS OXYGEN!" then the second thought was "this feels like an episode of HOUSE MD. CRAP! THIS BETTER NOT BE SOME FUNNY STRANGE DISEASE!"
anyhow, he is now fine after the treatment and is recuperating in the general ward. Thank you so much for your prayers. it really helped and i really feel it is a miracle that everything is attended to so promptly and that he is feeling fine now. Praise the Lord!
phew! my mum finally slept last night after a whole day of worrying. so all of us are fine at home. in fact, i think my dad is so fine that he just harassed the nurses into lending him their phone so that he can call me to remind me to bring his stuff tomorrow.
All i wish right now is that he comes safely back home.
Thankfully, after this, my mum stopped nagging and showed a lot of tender loving care (actually more like tough love... like want to caress his cheeks but they seem to be more like small slaps). Anyhow, really can't wait for him to be discharged. I actually felt an emptiness last night cos he will always ask me at night if i locked the gate.
So, He has to rest for at least 2 weeks (crap! no chauffeur for 2 weeks.. never mind i shall take taxi.)
Daddy! GET WELL SOON! MUACKS!
