WOOT! who is back leh?
as much as i like to say my plane touched down at xx p.m... but actual fact the train rumbled in laboriously slow and loud at 5p.m into woodlands checkpoint, 3 hours in delay. but thankfully the floodwaters subsided and i was able to travel by train.
the remants of the floods on the way back... think it was in the area of segamat? not sure... my mum asked why there wasn't any government offcials to help clear the rubbish... spoken just like a singaporean. used an ideal "ruler" to gauge everyone else and expect things to happen just with a snap of a finger. in reality.. the fastest way to clear up a mess, whether natural or man-made, is to clear it yourself.
i always prefer train rides to bus or car rides although it would be much slower. but the scenery along the way is worth every minute. but if you hate green and vegetation and is part of the race that loathes anything not developed or technologically advanced... well.. you can skip train rides then.
coming back from any country (fine i have only been to two, alright?) ... always makes me feel a little disorientated... like one moment you are at a place hundreds of km away and next you are sitting in you house, preparing to go back to your daily (shitty) rountine again. almost as if nothing has changed in your life and the past few days had been part of your dreams...
hahaha... well it had been a pleasant dream then.. met up with so many cousins.
everytime i asked her to strike a pose she will pose like that... hahahaha... kids nowadays knows how to pose.. just like a japanese doll no?
they're siblings. they have not seen me in a while but each time i see them they will start talking non-stop after 5 mins of "let's-smile-and-stare-at-weird-stranger-who-seem-to-be-our-cousin-from-singapore".. and the youngest will keep asking permission to sleep on the same bed with me. so adorable.. but not very shy about what presents she wants me to buy too.. i love her sister too. always very sweet-tempered. and i always have a soft spot for girls with mickey mouse ears. hahahaha..
unfortunately they had to travel to ipoh the next day so we didn't spend much time together actually.
on the 22nd, my other baby cousin had his birthday... and i realised it was tung chit ( the day where everyone eats tang yuan) ... mmmm... just in time... i finally got to be there for an important occasion (albeit small...) :)
the birthday boy was so adorable ... he used to look like Rain but now his eyes got bigger, so not really anymore but man i still think he looks very cute. i got to get myself a son one day.
the family!
the cousins!
the boy looks so cute in this picture ... almost like pocoyo or some cartoon character... makes me almost want to kidnap him..
"i wish i will always have more hair than daddy..heehee"
"hey... i blew out all of them... i think i have chance.. whee!"
this is priceless...
[sis:"psst.. cameras still on you.. pose something"
boy:"but i pose for so many already"
sis:"quick smile... i hope i look pretty"
boy:"just what must i do to EAT my cake already. i have been wanting to eat it since 5..*hrumphs"
sis:"do the RABBIT EARS/TWIST SIGN NOW NOW NOW!!!"
boy:"aiya...@G&(%S$$^#...."]
photo of no relevance ... just a shot while waiting for the cake.. but i want a photo where i look moderately alright here, you got a problem?
the last time he was still bald and running around on short stubby legs in pampers. and now... hahaha.. just in case you think i am getting old.. nope.. i am only 19.
let you in on a secret... i am always envous of people in big families.. where everyone can just sit down and shout at each other during dinner, make lame jokes and still walk away knowing that everyone at the table cares for you no matter where they are.
and as much as i always complain about going back to malaysia, i usually do find myself wanting to go back to m'sia again after a while.
ha.
but i still hate the long distances though... and i still prefer living in the city where shopping malls are more accessible.... and i really don't like staying in others' homes for long periods of time ..
talking about shopping. hahaha... i did indeed plough the shopping malls in KL (not all of them though..darn it... just when it was my personal aim for this trip) ... but i only got 3 shirts and 5 books. dots. BOOKS. although i do want to read those books..
so i FINALLY conclude
i.really.canNOT.shop.with.my.mum.
its like eating vegetables in front of kids ... they don't say anything but when you ask them for their opinion, they give you this distasteful face and curl up their lips like you are feeding them poison..
"eeee....where got nice?"
"哪里会好看?你很会花钱leh"
yah loh. i squander all my "properties" away on books and 3 shirts. bad unfilial daughters who loves shopping should just be condemned.
by the third day.. i am pissed and tired and wished that i am shopping in singapore instead. which ironically by then, MAJOR mum felt guilty for being the MOOD-SPOILER MONSTER for the past two days and offered to buy me anything i want... sometimes.. like a fart....the bad memory just stays... noo mood already la.
whine whine whine... julia only knows how to whine.. lol
hahaha.. but of course... i had a wonderful christmas .. we spend most of the night on christmas eve just talking at a mamak stall ( stalls owned by indian muslims selling pratas which comes alive at night catering the the supper seekers) ... talking about nonsense mostly ... just very thankful for that. every christmas should be like this... spent with loved ones and remembering things that you should be giving thanksl for.
aiyo... very sentimental hoh? cold nights and jazz does that to you.
and i bought lots of this of course.
it's like one year's worth?... i think i am the only person in KL chewing a gum the whole time i was there... hmmm...
couldn't find the small ones with tatoos on the labels... cos i spend most of the time in the malls.. under whose insistence i wonder... hahahaha
back to tuition and school tomorrow... whee! such fun... i am almost holding my breath just waiting for it.
